Comprehensive Orthopaedic Bracing for Support, Stability, and Recovery

At Human Motion Rehabilitation Centre, our Brace Services cover a wide range of orthopaedic solutions designed to support, stabilise, correct, and enhance the function of the musculoskeletal system.

Braces (orthoses) are externally applied devices that help manage pain, improve mobility, correct deformities, and assist in recovery following injury, surgery, or chronic conditions. We provide both custom-made and pre-fabricated braces for children, adults, and older persons.

Types of Braces Offered

1. Spinal Braces

Spinal orthoses support, immobilise, or correct the alignment of the spine:

• Cervical Collars: Support the neck following injury, whiplash, or cervical spine surgery.
• Thoracic Braces: Support upper-back posture correction or manage fractures.
• Lumbar / Lumbosacral Braces: Support lower back for pain relief, disc herniation, strain, or post-op care.
• Scoliosis Braces: Custom-moulded TLSO braces to slow or halt spinal curvature in adolescents. Read Marcus's Scoliosis Story →

2. Upper Limb Braces

Support, protect, or immobilise joints of the arm, wrist, and hand:

• Shoulder Braces: Provide stability following dislocations, subluxation, or rotator cuff injuries.
• Elbow Braces: Support for tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, hyperextension, or fractures.
• Wrist / Thumb Braces: Manage carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, sprains, or tendonitis.
• Hand & Finger Splints: Immobilise or support digits affected by arthritis, fractures, or contractures.

3. Lower Limb Braces

Support walking, correct alignment, and reduce joint strain in the legs:

• Knee Braces: Ligament stability (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL), osteoarthritis unloader braces, and post-op ROM braces.
• Ankle Braces: Stability following sprains, sports injuries, or chronic ligamentous laxity.
• Foot Orthoses (Insoles): Custom footbeds for plantar fasciitis, flat feet (pes planus), and heel spurs.
• AFOs & KAFOs: Ankle-Foot and Knee-Ankle-Foot orthoses for drop foot, stroke, or nerve injuries.

4. Specialised Bracing

Purpose-built devices for specific conditions:

• Fracture Braces: Removable rigid support to aid bone healing as an alternative to plaster casts.
• Prophylactic Sports Braces: Prevent injuries during athletic activities and competitive contact sports.
• Dynamic Splints: Apply low-load prolonged stretch to improve joint range of motion after contractures.
• Paediatric Braces: Braces for developmental dysplasia of the hip (Pavlik harness) and clubfoot.
